My view on same-sex marriage
Same-sex marriage is a spiritual and religious issue, not a political issue. There should be no such thing as banning marriage. If they are two consenting adults, then they should be allowed to do as they wish, just like the rest of us. It’s called equal rights. It’s called civil rights. If one person is allowed to marry, then all people are allowed to marry who they wish to marry. Traditional marriage is not a political issue, it has nothing to do with politics whatsoever. So, the subject of same sex marriage should only be a debate between the churches, not politicians or the government. The Bible should not be a go-to book to pass laws. Banning same-sex marriage is taking away a persons right. Marriage is for all people, you can’t just ban marriage for a few people you have a religious disagreement with. An American man/woman has the right to marry another of the same sex, it’s their right as Americans.
SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IS A RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL ISSUE, NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS, NOR SHOULD IT BE BANNED. MARRIAGE IS FOR ALL. IT IS AN ISSUE FOR THE CHURCHES, NOT POLITICIANS. THE BIBLE SHOULD NOT BE THE GO-TO BOOK TO FIND AND PASS LAWS. IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH SAME SEX MARRIAGE, THEN TAKE UP WITH YOUR CHURCH, NOT THE GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE AWAY RIGHTS FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE DUE TO RELIGIOUS ISSUES.
People need to get this through their heads. It’s only become a political issue because the people in the government are religious and are trying to pass laws that agree with their own religious views. That is the wrong thing to do. Religion needs to stay out of politics. Not all people are religious and want to follow religious laws. Religious laws need to stay in the church and stay out of the government. I can’t repeat myself enough. RELIGIOUS LAWS NEED TO STAY IN THE CHURCH AND OUT OF THE GOVERNMENT.

All my life, I’ve had to listen to rhetoric about the United States being a model of freedom and democracy, the most uniquely enlightened and humanitarian country in history, a “nation of laws” which, unlike others, has never pursued policies of conquest and aggression. I’m sure you’ve heard it before. It’s official “truth” in the United States. It’s what is taught to school children, and it’s the line peddled to the general public. Well, I’ve got a hot news flash for everybody here. It’s a lie. The whole thing’s a lie, and it always has been. Leaving aside the obvious points which could be raised to disprove it by Blacks and Chicanos and Asian immigrants right here in North America—not to mention the Mexicans, the Nicaraguans, the Guatemalans, the Puerto Ricans, the Hawaiians, the Filipinos, the Samoans, the Tamarros of Guam, the Marshall Islanders, the Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Cubans, the Dominicans, the Grenadans, the Libyans, the Panamanians, the Iraqis, and a few dozen other peoples out there who’ve suffered American invasions and occupations first hand—there’s a little matter of genocide that’s got to be taken into account right here at home. I’m talking about the genocide which has been perpetrated against American Indians, a genocide that began the instant the first of Europe’s boat people washed up on the beach of Turtle Island, a genocide that’s continuing right now, at this moment. Against Indians, there’s not a law the United States hasn’t broken, not a Crime Against Humanity it hasn’t committed, and it’s still going on.

“For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.”
The Christians using the Old Testament for their arguments should read their bible. and not just pick and choose, but really read it. The OT is there to be learned from. Meaning, you should learn from the mistakes made and learn to love everyone as the New Testament asks. The scriptures of the OT have faults, as said in Hebrews 8:7 above. That is why Christians are supposed to live by the NT and learn from the old. That’s why it is ignorant to use the OT as an argument for atheism and Christianity alike. The OT is there to learn from and not to be lived by. It cannot take away sin like the NT, thanks to the death of Jesus. Living by the OT is going back to a time when sins could not be forgiven. Thus, God created a new covenant through the blood of Jesus.
Not that I give a crap. I’m tired of Christians and Atheists alike. Atheism is just as annoying as any religion. Christians won’t keep their mouth shut about their belief and Atheists won’t keep their mouth shut about their disbelief. It’s a debate that will never be won or even proven until we die and 1) We wake up to eternal life in Heaven or Hell, or 2) We cease to exist. You see what I mean? Debating is worthless. If Heaven exists, science will never be able to prove it. If Heaven doesn’t exist, science will never be able to prove it. Death is the only sure way of knowing. Why is every little thing we do become a huge debate. Why does it matter so much to you that I may or may not believe in God, or decide to be gay? They would be my decisions and mine alone. Christians and Atheists both are hypocritical liars and bigots. Let me live my life, and you live yours. Why can’t it be that easy? Why does it matter so much that you have to be right? Christians, if heaven is real, then the consequences are mine to face, but if heaven is not real, then what a life you’ve wasted. I will feel more sorry for you if it turns out that heaven doesn’t exist. The life you could have lived, instead of following the rules of what might just turn out to be a work of art. Atheists, I hope for your sake that Hell does not exist. If so, I will be seeing you there.
